BIO:
Cleanhead is a rootsy Americana trio with a story to tell. Currently based in Seattle, USA, Cleanhead serves up raw, authentic narratives about life on America’s edge. Think Nick Cave meets Tom Waits meets Merle Haggard. Frontman/songwriter CZ Mooney draws on decades of experience playing the doghouse bass in scruffy bars and clubs across the country—and then getting up early the next day to get to work. This is America as it is—striving, rowdy, nostalgic, slightly off-kilter. It’s noir Americana seen through a surrealist filter. It’s Tin Pan Alley with brass knuckles. Vivid songs invoking neon beer signs, cigarette smoke, sawdust and scuffed boots on a sticky floor, a jukebox glowing. The rogues gallery of characters in these songs are the people of America—tough, a little cynical, but basically optimistic and romantic. Cleanhead’s debut album, “Cleanhead Walks In,” will be released in January 2027 on Top Left Records.

This is a 45-minute workshop for those who are URB-curious. Play the electric bass, or guitar, or nothing at all, and want to play the upright bass? Stop on by for a practical introduction and a hands-on discussion of the second-most-democratic musical instrument (next to the harmonica).
